WestJet Flight Changes Within 24 Hours

WestJet Flight Changes made within 24 hours of the initial booking carry certain guidelines. In this time frame, adjustments to your reservation will only incur charges based on fare differences. Should you decide to change your flight within the first 24 hours of booking, no change fee applied. 

The policy is also applicable for WestJet Flight cancellations within 24 hours of booking. 

WestJet Flight Changes Outside 24 Hours

Regarding changes made beyond the initial 24-hour window, it is not possible to modify a Basic fare that was booked outside of this timeframe. For flights booked more than 24 hours ago, any alterations made will be subject to fare adjustments and potential increases in government taxes or fees.

WestJet Same Day Flight Change

Same-day flight changes provide passengers with the option to modify their confirmed flight by adjusting the departure time, subject to certain conditions. These changes can be requested 24 hours prior to the scheduled departure time.

If an earlier or later flight is available for the same origin and destination, passengers may make a change by paying a fee either at the airport or by contacting WestJet.

To be eligible for WestJet same-day change, the following criteria must be met:

• The flight must be from the same origin to the same destination.
• The change must be made on the same calendar day as the original departure.
• The flight must be operated by WestJet
• A seat in the same cabin class as the original booking must be available.

There are instances when same-day changes are not available, including:

• When a Basic fare has been purchased.

• When there is only one departure scheduled for the day.
• When there are no flights available

WestJet Flight Change Policy For Flight Affected Due To Travel Advisory

If there is a current travel advisory for your destination on your trip dates, you have the following options:

• Change your travel dates to and/or from the same destination without incurring a fare difference charge. However, blackout dates may apply.
• Change your destination while keeping the same travel dates. If the alternate airport is geographically close, such as switching from Abbotsford (YXX) to Vancouver (YVR), there will be no fare difference charge.
• If you choose to travel to an airport that is not geographically close, you will be required to pay the fare difference.
• If the new fare is lower, the refund guidelines for the fare type will apply.
• Cancel your trip, and a refund will be provided based on the guidelines for the original fare bundle.

WestJet Flight Change Policy For Award Tickets

When it comes to changing flights booked with Travel Bank funds, the policy for award tickets is as follows. 

• The flight change fee will vary based on the type of ticket you initially booked. 
• If the new flight you wish to change to has a higher fare, you will be required to pay the fare difference. 
• If the new flight has a lower fare, the remaining balance will be credited back to your Travel Bank account. 

WestJet Flight Change Policy For Vacations Package

Changes made within 24 hours of the original booking will not incur any change fees, but guests will be responsible for paying the fare difference, if applicable. Add to that – 

• For changes made 21 days or more before the departure date, a change fee of 100 CAD per passenger.
• Vacations booked with round-trip Premium fares are exempt from the change fee.
• When making changes, the new booking will be based on the current retail price. If there is a change of property (such as switching to a different hotel), it will be treated as a cancellation.
• One WestJet name change per booking is allowed outside of 21 days or more before the departure date, subject to a change fee of 100 CAD plus GST.
